Old Vines Bobal Rosé
D.O. Valencia
Valencia, in the eastern part of Spain, has
a long history of winemaking that dates back several centuries.
The region is divided into 4 sub zones: Alto Turia, Valentino,
Muscat and Clariano; most of our vineyards are in Clariano, where
the climate is continental dry with very warm summer days with
temperatures reaching 38-40ºC. In evenings and nights it
cools down a lot, allowing the vines to breath and promoting a
slower ripening of the grapes. With these climatic conditions
the grapes still retain good natural acidity and develop great
flavors.
Natural precipitation is limited to about 500mm
per year and irrigation is often not possible, forcing the farmers
to reduce the yield to less than 3 kilos per vine resulting in
wines with an overall higher concentration.
