Old Vines Tempranillo
D.O. La Mancha
The Tempranillo grape is Spain’s most
important grape variety and is planted in nearly all regions.
As the most widely-planted grape variety in Spain we also find
the Tempranillo planted in the Castilla La Mancha.
Castilla La Mancha has a long history of winemaking
dating back in time to the XII century. Within the last 15 years
this region has struggled very hard to overcome its reputation
for poor, low quality wines, and with this effort they have succeeded.
The region is now full of young winemakers making world recognized
wines that offer the consumer excellent quality and very memorable
wines. Winemakers have used their climate and terroir to their
advantage. Hot dry summers with extreme temperature throughout
the day contribute to small yelding vines with fruit that have
perfect ripeness and great natural acidity.
