Old Vines Verdejo
D.O. La Mancha
Our vineyards have been cultivated on the Spanish
“Meseta” of La Mancha for centuries. The vineyards
are at an altitude of 722 metres above sea level with the shallow
soil that can be sandy in some areas and clayey in others. The
vines on average get about 450 l/m2 of rainfall a year with cold
winters (-8ºC) and warm summers (38ºC). With these ideal
conditions of rain, sun and soil the grapes are of a high quality.
Furthermore, the vineyards are carefully selected by winemaker
David Tofterup. He searches throughout the year tracking the progress
of the new vintage, sampling the grapes and making his final selection
based on the quality and characteristics he is looking to show
in the Flor del Montgo Verdejo.
